Happy In My Skirt Sports Happy Girl

FYI - all links in the body of this post are affiliate links, which means I receive a commission if you make a purchase using the affiliate link. Let me say, I'm 4'10 ( and half.. you can't forget the half )" ... so.. I'm .. shall we say vertically challenged. That being said, the happy girl isn't a skirt that I've tested for running. Not to say that I couldn't run it it, I honestly just haven't tested it for running. I do know several ( taller ladies ) who run in it, and it's their go-to skirt. It hasn't been my go-to skirt for working out, but it has been my go-to skirt for other things.... like... oh... Church... school orientation... grocery shopping.... running errands.... out with the girls... out with the family for family outings... out to eat .... the playground.... mainly it's my skirt that I use for when I need to look.. shall we say.... presentable. So the Happy Girl definitely makes me happy in that it's comfort...

#TuesdayTidbit - Compression Gear

I do not have a medical degree, and I don't claim to have medical knowledge. I'm speaking from my personal experience only. I honestly don't remember when it was... I think it was maybe marathon training? Or when I was running half marathons and longer distances? But I began to suffer with calf cramps. I mean severe calf cramps. I had friends suggest that I try calf sleeves. I ignored their advice for a couple of weeks, and then I tried a pair.

The Skirt Sports Lioness And Me

FYI - all links in the body of this post are affiliate links, which means I receive a commission if you make a purchase using the affiliate link. By now you should know my love of the Jette , but it's not the only Skirt Sports skirt that I have a major crush on. The Lioness is another one of my faves. (The basic stats are Skirt length (med): 12″ front, 13″ back with built-in shorties: 4″ inseam). It also has a pocket on each leg AND a zippered pocket on the back. I love

Just Me And My Skirt Sports Jette

Still Workin' On My Night Moves

*P lease Note: This post may contain affiliate links, which means I receive a commission if you make a purchase using the affiliate link. It's that time of the year... if I want to run before Hubby goes to work - it's dark. If I want to run after hubby gets home  - it's dark.  I can use the treadmill, but well.. we all know that the treadmill isn't called the dreadmill for no reason. So, that leaves me working on my night moves. If you remember from last year ( Workin' on my Night Moves - Fear Of The Dark)   I began running solo in the dark. It is still a work in progress. I am not afraid to run in the dark with friends, but running alone in the dark still takes a pep talk to get me out the door. But I have had several people ask me about my vest and my lights that I use when running in the dark.  *affiliate link*

Cloudline Premium Merino Wool Socks

Full Disclosure: I received a pair of socks free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience . My feet are always cold... always.. and this time of the year into the Winter, it can be really painful - especially when I'm running/hiking/exercising. It's easy for to me to 'layer' to keep my body warm, but keeping my feet warm isn't as easy. I was excited to give Cloudline Premium Merino Wool Socks a try. Because the Cloudline socks were a little thicker than my normal socks I was a little concerned that maybe they would be too thick for my trail shoes. Surprisingly

JWalking Designs - Running In A Skirt

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience. Running skirts - love them or hate them - I see them everywhere. I have to admit they are cute. And I've come across one that's not only cute and functional, but it's modest. I'm talking about JWalking Designs Granted, I'm short so it's a little longer on me than most average height people. But compared to other running skirts, I found the JWalking Design skirt to be longer with longer shorts underneath.

Checking Out The Vizi Belt

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience.  Unless you are completely new to the blog, then you know that one of my major pet peeves is people who run without reflective gear or bright clothing. I definitely run with both. Let's just say that I usually receive comments on how bright I am. :) But this year, I've had the opportunity to try out some really great gear. And my latest running gear to try was the Vizi Belt

Mr Visbility LED Reflective Belt Charges by USB

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience. I am the queen of neon and reflective gear. Hey, it is what it is. I would rather be seen and safe than be one of those people that you can barely see out there. It's one of my greatest pet peeves to see people walking/running in non reflective gear or clothing. But with a 4 year old son, batteries are in high demand in my house. So the thoughts of another reflective belt really didn't catch my attention until I saw that this belt charges via USB . Oh yeah, you read that right! The Mr. Visibility LED Reflective Belt  is rechargeable via USB.

BeSportWise Running Belt - The Perfect Gear

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience. As you know, I won't run without my phone. I usually run alone, and even when I don't, I usually always run with my phone for safety in case my family needs me or if there is an issue on my run. So when I'm looking for a running belt, the first thing I check is to see if my iPhone will fit. The BeSportWise Running belt not only had enough room for my phone, but for other personal items, and a separate zippered compartment for my key (or money). I can't express just how thrilled I am with the extra zippered compartment. If I'm pulling out my phone, or fuel, I don't have to worry about my key (or money) falling out since I can place it in the smaller zippered compartment. Oh, and as an added bonus,

Coovy Athletic Tank Review

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience. I loved the Coovy Athletic Tank  . I loved that it has removable pads. I probably could have used a larger size tank. I've put on a few pounds and sizes that once fit me are a little snug, but I have plans to tone up over the summer. So I decided not to exchange the tank, but instead kept this size as I hope to get a lot of use out of it over the Summer. And I hope to wear it with confidence very soon! But let me tell you about the   Coovy Athletic Tank . It didn't 'pull or tug'. It fit without binding. It moved easy. I liked the fabric, and I believe that it will wick away sweat instead of sticking to my skin. I loved that it had pads that were removable. I don't like tanks that have pads that I can't remove. With the removable pads, you can choose to use them or remove them and I really liked that feature...

MuvePro - Be Seen - Reflective Outdoor Gear Giveaway

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience. I am known as the... umm... Queen of Neon. Most of my clothes are very bright neon, and usually mismatched. Because, honestly, I run usually early morning in low light, and I want to make sure that drivers can see me. I do have a light up vest, but I also wanted a vest that I could use when I didn't need to be lit up like a Christmas tree. Let me show you the MuvePro Reflective Vest  (psst - it also comes with ankle bands)

My First VS Sport VoxBox From Influenster Review

This is a sponsored blog post. Influenster provided me with complimentary Victoria's Secret products to test and review as part of a contest. Talk about being excited when this was delivered. This is my very first Influenster VoxBox, and I couldn't wait to rip it open.  Inside was a Victoria's Secret Sport Incredible bra, and pair of Knockout Capri's. I couldn't wait to take these out for a run.  I've tried several different sports bras. Let's just say, I'm not flat chested and I require a bra that's going to give me a lot of support. I was extremely curious to try the Victoria's Secret Sport Incredible bra.  My first impression was that I liked that it wasn't super thin. I like to have a little cushion and contouring in the cups, otherwise I feel a little too exposed. What I wasn't prepared for was how low cut it was. Most sports bras that I wear come up a little higher on the breast.  This bra felt the same as othe...

Stay In Place Or Slip? Bolder Band Review And Giveaway

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience. When I'm shopping for a headband, the first thing that I usually want to know is - Will the headband stay in place or is it going to slip off of my head? Then I want to know if it's actually going to help with keeping the sweat out of my eyes. Let me introduce you to the Bolder Band. My first thought was "wow, this is really a cute headband." But what I really wanted to know was is it going to stay put. And about a mile into the run, it slipped. But, if you notice the placement of the band, you will see that I'm not really wearing it where I should be. I had it too far back on my head. I should have checked out their video on the best way to wear the bolder band.  Once I moved it down during the run, it did not slip , it stayed put, and it felt great . I also have a small head, and there is one si...

Garmin Forerunner 305 Or Tom Tom Runner?

When I was looking at a running watch, I know this was the question that I asked myself - Garmin or Tom Tom?  And I honestly wound up with both a Garmin and a Tom Tom over the years. Let me compare the two: Garmin Forerunner 305 This was my first ever running watch, and I still use it today. After about a year or so the 'beep' stopped beeping. That is a little irritating since I had it set up for mile splits. From what I understand, it has to possibly do with a 'sweat' issue, and too much sweat getting into the watch? But here are the pros and cons. Pros: To my knowledge, the information is accurate. I've never doubted the distance or the pace with this watch. No lag time with pace or average pace Shows Mile splits Shows Current Pace and Average Pace Can set up the screen for multiple screen displays Can look at splits in the middle of a run Can be used for multiple sports Numerous Training Options Can be used in various weather conditions (h...

Respect Your Universe - Discount Code And Review

I don't know about where you live, but here we've had one really brutally cold and quite snowy winter. As you know I'm coming back from injury, so the majority of my runs have been on the treadmill. But my trainer suggested that I get outside at least once a week for a run. I know that the difference in surface is important. I will run in the cold. But through my Winters here, I have learned that the right gear can make all of the difference in the world. So on a 19 degree (feels like 8) morning, I took my Respect Your Universe  endurance jacket out for a test run. There were several features about this jacket that I really liked. First, it has thumb holes (yahoo). Second, you can zip it up to where it will cover your nose/mouth (super score for really cold days). One thing to keep in mind though is to tie the strings into a bow or something that will shorten the strings (otherwise they will bounce around and drive you crazy). It also has pockets which ...
