Rechargeable Knuckle Lights

I LOVE my Knuckle Lights. Ever since ( oh I can't even remember how long it's been ) I've been running in the dark, knuckle lights have been a life saver for me. My one complaint was the battery life ( or lack thereof ). I wound up taking the batteries out after each use so that it wouldn't run them down. But other than that, they've been great for me. I was super thrilled to hear that they are making an updated model - rechargeable, magnetic and they are also waterproof. Source  http://www.knucklelights.com / Preorder by backing the kickstarter program. You can find that info here.    (FYI, there is also an informational video to give you more information) Also, email info@knucklelights.com and mention Will Run 4 Ice Cream , and they will also send you a t-shirt in addition to your knuckle lights.

Still Workin' On My Night Moves

*P lease Note: This post may contain affiliate links, which means I receive a commission if you make a purchase using the affiliate link. It's that time of the year... if I want to run before Hubby goes to work - it's dark. If I want to run after hubby gets home  - it's dark.  I can use the treadmill, but well.. we all know that the treadmill isn't called the dreadmill for no reason. So, that leaves me working on my night moves. If you remember from last year ( Workin' on my Night Moves - Fear Of The Dark)   I began running solo in the dark. It is still a work in progress. I am not afraid to run in the dark with friends, but running alone in the dark still takes a pep talk to get me out the door. But I have had several people ask me about my vest and my lights that I use when running in the dark.  *affiliate link*

Workin' On My Night Moves - Fear Of The Dark

Could it be? Was this just a fluke or was it for real? Is it possible that I am overcoming my fear of running solo in the dark? Today, I got up before anyone else could wake up. I snuck downstairs, got on the treadmill to get 1 mile before the crying began. (Lil Man - not me). He got his flu shot on Monday. He didn't sleep well last night. He was upset that his 'green light' on his clock wasn't on. He didn't want me to run. He did want me to run. Basic, 3 year old meltdown. It just happened to be at 5:40am.

Marathon Training No One Said It Would Be Easy Or Even Always Fun

No one said that it would be easy, or that it would always be enjoyable, and always fun. But when you've made a commitment - it's a commitment - and you see it through (and no I'm not talking about marriage, although I could easily make a correlation between the two ). I'm referring to my marathon training. See, last Sunday I had a 14 mile run on the schedule. Mentally I felt blah. Physically I felt 'ok' but not stellar. And when it came down to it, my mental blah won in the end and I bailed at 6 miles on my 14 mile run. If I thought I felt bad mentally before, I really felt bad mentally after bailing on the run. My trainer, being the trainer that she is, simply said, can you get in a 2 hour or so run on Monday? Gulp, I suppose so. And that's just what I did. It required me getting up before the sun woke up so that I could get in a 2 hour run before Hubby went to work. I am TERRIFIED of running solo in the dark. But I had bailed on my Long Run...
