PowerIce - Have You Tried It?

The temps here are heating up. The freezing temps of Winter are being pushed away by humid hotter air. Wow, my body isn't used to the warmer temps yet. But I have to say, after a long hot run, knowing that I get one of these awesome treats makes tolerating the heat just a little bit better. Me after my Long Run Have you ever heard of PowerICE ? Lost With A View

So today's run didn't go as planned. It was supposed to be 13 miles. I had to skip yesterday's 6, because we all seem to have chest colds. My son was up a lot last night, and I was operating on limited sleep. I didn't feel my best, but I didn't feel my worst. However, around 3ish or so miles, I wasn't so sure how this run was going to work out. Then I got lost.... I was running a route that I ran with a running friend last weekend. However, I am really directionally challenged - and no maps don't help. In fact, maps just confuse me more. Anyway, I took the wrong way, but wound up with a great view. Instead of trying to get back 'on the correct route', I decided to go a little farther and then back track and go back the way that I had just come. I made it back to the main road, and decided to run to Wildwood since I was short on mileage.  Between the sun and just not feeling well, my stomach issues kicked in. Thankfully I made it to t

#GirlsRunFast Ambassador

Yeah, I'm now a Girls Run Fas t Ambassador. In addition to becoming a #girlsrunfast ambassador this week, I've also had a very busy week with trying to get my runs in while Hubby is turkey hunting.  I also in addition to battling allergies have a head cold. Sigh. Double Sigh. Triple sigh as I have a cold medicine hang over. But I was still able to get my workouts in this week (all except my strength workout. For some reason it's my weight training that always suffers when I'm sick or dealing with lack of time).  Tomorrow is a 6 mile run. Sunday is 12. Fingers crossed I can breathe better by then!  Is anyone else dealing with family scheduling conflicts and finding it hard to get workouts in?

From Awesome to Bleh But It Ends With A Smile

I've had some great runs to have some very bleh runs this weekend. Earlier this week I hit the mark for my schedule. But Saturday's plans got rearranged for me and I had to run in the afternoon (not my favorite time to run). And I was trying to beat storms that were moving in. Needless to say, my mind wasn't in a great place for this run. It was hot. I didn't bring water. And my pace run turned into a less than stellar run. I was about 20 seconds per mile shower than I should have been. Mentally I felt defeated. Today's long run of 11 wasn't much better. The weather was nice, and honestly the only thing holding me back was my mind today. I just couldn't get into it. So today turned into more of a run/walk. Thankfully it was supposed to be an easy run because it turned into a very easy run! But today is Mother's day, and although my mind has bounced back and forth from missing my Mom who is in MS, to my grandmothers who are in Heaven, to me being in P
