I've had some great runs to have some very bleh runs this weekend. Earlier this week I hit the mark for my schedule. But Saturday's plans got rearranged for me and I had to run in the afternoon (not my favorite time to run). And I was trying to beat storms that were moving in. Needless to say, my mind wasn't in a great place for this run. It was hot. I didn't bring water. And my pace run turned into a less than stellar run. I was about 20 seconds per mile shower than I should have been. Mentally I felt defeated.
Today's long run of 11 wasn't much better. The weather was nice, and honestly the only thing holding me back was my mind today. I just couldn't get into it. So today turned into more of a run/walk. Thankfully it was supposed to be an easy run because it turned into a very easy run!
But today is Mother's day, and although my mind has bounced back and forth from missing my Mom who is in MS, to my grandmothers who are in Heaven, to me being in PA and not at times feeling all of that appreciated... this Lil Man's smiles made it all worth it.

We all have those runs. Those runs are the ones that build our mental toughness and the ones that teach us the best lessons. Great job pushing through!
