Will Run For Ice Cream

I love watching the sun rise, but today I also got the opportunity to watch the sunset with yogiventure ( think adventure with yoga) . A friend mentioned a groupon. I said sure why not. And today was my first yogiventure. But, let's not put the cart before the horse. Way before sunset, I was on the road down by the river for a few slow miles. It started off as a run, and ended up as a leisure walk. And you know what, I was perfectly ok with that... It was a beautiful morning to be out and about, and I knew that I had an evening adventure coming up. My foot still isn't well, and my shoe was putting pressure on the wound. And just think, had I been running, I would have missed this little guy.

Enough is enough of this sitting thing... like.. no... really... I'm done. I was told that I could run - it would just hurt. So after about 2 weeks of just sitting and pain and basically just not moving, I couldn't take it any longer. I told myself that if I could get a shoe on, I was running or walking or something. Let me tell you, the shoe was painful! But, I got it on.. and I got on the treadmill. I need a day. There I said it. I need a day where my main responsibility is me. A day that I know Lil Man is being taken care of, but some time that I can just focus on me.  So, I took that day. I had originally planned to hit the trail, but with my recent freak accident ( When The Unexpected Happens ) those plans changed.  So I went to the spa instead. I prefer a massage, but instead I had my first facial. Between the chipped bone in my leg, and my foot, I didn't think a massage would be a great idea.  It was a cloudy day, but my view from the balcony was beautiful.  And my drink of choice was hot chocolate.. lots of it.. I think I had at least 4 cups. But it was amazing... like melted liquid chocolate.. it was awesome. 

Seriously, sometimes life throws you a curve ball... or in my case... a very large dog! Standing in my front yard, talking to the neighbor, out of nowhere his dog came running at top speed and hit my legs. I held back the tears, but I was hurting.. and hurting bad. My foot was bleeding, but it was my leg that was hurting the worst. When I got inside and washed off the blood from my foot, this is what I found. Yikes, that thing was deep. Don't believe what you read when it says "mild" condition. Apparently adults aren't really supposed to get this. I'm not really sure how I was 'chosen'. I'm pretty much a germaphobe. Oh, you know the one. Touch a grocery cart (get out hand sanitizer), pay for groceries (get out hand sanitizer), put groceries in car (get out hand sanitizer). And I practically scrub my son once we leave any public place. I think you get the idea. But somehow, Lil Man and I have contracted this

You know that moment when you realize that something you'd been planning on isn't going to happen? Well, yep, that moment just happened. Last year I wanted to do the Rothrock Challenge, but I chickened out. This year I registered early so I wouldn't change my mind. I'd be locked in so to speak. Sure, I was scared. The closer to this weekend, the more nervous I got. But I planned on attempting the race... and then... I got a little stomach bug. Thankfully that only lasted a couple of days.  But apparently it lowered my resistance so that when Hubby and Lil Man got a virus, I got it bad. As in... doubled over coughing so hard I couldn't get my breath bad - pain in my back when breathing bad - overall just ... well... bad. Hubby is usually one to be optimistic "Oh you'
