Logan's Run 5K

The weather was much cooler than my last race. It was also windy, especially on the bridge and by the river. I wasn't sure how I'd do since my last few runs have been so difficult. I knew though when I first started running that this would be a decent run. As usual, I lagged in the middle, but I was able to recover a little time near the end. I didn't PR, but this was my second best time. I came in 87/238 with a time of 27:16. I'm pleased with myself. HG went and took some great pictures. My mile splits were: @ Mile 1 ~ 8:13, Mile 2 ~ 9:30, Mile 3 ~ 8:59, Mile 3.1 ~ 7:09. I'm glad that I ran today. And I'm glad HG was there with me. This is me pushing through at the end. I was determined to push it on through even though I was struggling with my breathing.

Rest Day

I took a rest day today. It was so beautiful out that it was hard not to run. But I'm increasing my mileage, and I'm trying to do it without injury this time. So far I've run 12 miles this week. If I can get 4 in tomorrow it will make 16 for the week. My legs are still a little sore, and I don't plan to push it tomorrow. If I do 4 then fine, if I do less then fine. I just want to run. Technically I've already run farther this week than previous weeks. My next race is next weekend. I don't know why I am so nervous about these 5Ks. I think it's because I'm not sure yet if I'll be able to continue running. In the back of my mind, I keep hearing this might be my last one for awhile. I'm going to try to shake that out of my head though and just enjoy it. It will probably be the same course as my last race. But since I just ran the course a couple of weeks ago, at least I will know what to expect. I plan to run tomorrow. Swim on Monday. Run on Tuesday

4 Mile Lunch Run

What a day! It has not been my best. I'm glad I was able to get in a 4 Mile run on my lunch break. I pushed myself a little too hard on the first mile, which made the last one a little more difficult. But I needed it. I needed to just get out there and run hard. I needed to feel my heart beat. I needed to feel the blood pulsing through my veins. I needed to feel my legs pumping. I needed to feel alive inside. So I ran.

Beautiful Weather

I couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather. I was finally able to run in shorts. I ran with my boss after work. It was a nice slow run. It was great to be out there. We ran 4 miles. I plan to run tomorrow after work. I need to get a strength workout in. I have put it off all week. I just hate doing weights. I wish I could find a way to push myself through it. Looking forward to some runnning in this nice weather. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone
