#TuesdayTidbit Pilates Or Yoga

As you know, I've been working on strengthening my core since I'm finding that my weak core is what has contributed to this hamstring injury. So today's #TuesdayTidbit is about Pilates and Yoga. Part of my future workouts will include both Yoga and Pilates. And I thought that this

Let The Fun Begin With Salsa Dance Mastery System

I have been compensated in the form of a gift card/money/coupon and/or received the product/service at a reduced price or for free. All opinions expressed are mine and honest in nature. After discovering that ballroom dancing wasn't too far fetched for me to learn, I decided to check out salsa dancing with the Salsa Dance Mastery System . I am mesmerized watching people salsa dance. I love the music.... too bad I can't away my hips ;)

Cardio - Strength - Walk/Run - Repeat

So this is my current workout life at the moment. I'm following the advice of my trainer and giving it a go.  ( No One Said Post-Recovery Would Be Easy, Or Fun, And Definitely Not Fas t) So far so good, but I will admit that as I type this my hamstrings are screaming at me, along with my inner thighs.  Yesterday consisted of the leg press, inner and outer thighs, calf raises, assisted pull-ups, push ups, 2 minute plank, swiss ball crunches, super man, bicep curls and triceps curls. I followed that with 20 minutes on the not sure of the real name leg press bike, and then 20 minutes on the elliptical. Then, last night I went to a boot camp type group fitness class which involved more push ups, hamstring work, squats, bosu ball and the list goes on and on.  I expected to have a difficult time with my walk/run today. But I was pleasantly surprised. My workout this morning felt great!  It was a 10 minute walk followed by a 2 MILE RUN (can you tel...

Gym

I finally made it to the gym yesterday. It was the first time in months. Between surgery, and the messed up foot, I've been paying a gym membership that hasn't been used. So I loaded up Lil Man and to the gym we went. I wasn't sure how he'd do since it's been so long. But he did great. Me? Well rowing in front of of the treadmills wasn't fun, especially since I wanted to be on the treadmill. But I realized very quick that rowing wasn't easy. Granted, I can't really compare it to a great run, but it was a tough work out. I'm feeling it today. I'm sore, but in a good way. I also went to boot camp last night which is contributing to my soreness. Today was a rest day partially because we got a little snow, but also because I'm sore. I don't want to over do it. I plan to take the boot off this weekend and run a half mile. HOPING for no pain after the run. I am registered for a 5K on the 9th of Dec. to run with a friend who is runni...

Spin Class

Well, let's see. I haven't done a spin class in over 2 years. Within 5 minutes, I was hoping for survival. Fifteen minutes in I looked down and noticed the small sign on the bike that says "if you feel faint, stop immediately". I'm thinking they put that there for people like me. Thirty  minutes in I'm weighing my options. Which would be the least embarrassing - puking or collapsing and falling off the bike? I glance around and people are smiling. Really? Smiling? Are they delusional? Forty-five minutes in - just don't cry. Whatever you do- you cannot cry. I don't care how bad your 'sitting' bones hurt. Slowly the clocked ticked by to 60 minutes. Whew it was finally over, but now I was faced with the fear of falling when trying to get off the bike as my legs were like jello. But I was able to stand, even smile and the very next thought was I can't wait to do it again next week!
