The Adventures of Pajama Girl And The Coronation Of The Cupcake Queen

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

As you know, Lil Man and I love to read. We read to him since he was a newborn. In fact, I think I read to him before he was born. So when I heard about The Adventures of Pajama Girl and the Coronation of the Cupcake Queen, I was eager to read it to Lil Man.

It's a cute book about a little girl whose pajamas take her to a land of cupcakes and sweets where she and her sister learn a valuable life lesson. Lil Man was hooked from the beginning, and the book held his attention to the very end where he asked me to read it again.

He loves the colors and the story-line. I too enjoyed it, and I loved the message behind the cute story. And I am happy that I am able to give one of you your own copy!

I don't know about you, but it's very discouraging to read a children's book that's without substance or a plot. I've read some books and thought 'huh?' when I finished reading them. Well let me assure you, with The Adventures of Pajama Girl And the Coronation Of The Cupcake Queen, I was more than pleased with the story, and it definitely had substance, yet it was written in a way that Lil Man could understand. This book has quickly become one of his favorite books, and one of mine. It's a pleasure to read.

And as  bonus, it comes with activity sheets. If you buy the book in a store, or online, simply to go http://pajamagirl.com/downloads.php and enter your receipt. You will be emailed 10 activity sheets.

  2. This would be right up my 5 year olds alley! She loves to read and of course what girl doesn’t like cupcakes. Some of the stories out for little kids to read right now are really weird or crazy stories with not much for morals.

  4. What a cute book! I love colorful pictures and it's a great idea that they include activity pages as well. Plus I think it's important for books to have a lesson but share it in a way that is fun for children and this sounds like one of those books.

  7. These sounds and looks like such a sweet book - I really love the title! I like that you're not one of those gender stereotyping mothers either and were very happy for your little boy to read this book, I'd be the same. How lovely of you to have one up for grabs for a lucky reader too.

  9. That sounds like a really great book. I think books should be both educational and entertaining and I'm happy to hear that this book has both of those things. I will look into it for my nieces.

Self Care Is Not Selfish It's Necessary

It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. And I'll say it just one more time in case you didn't hear me. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. I have found through experience that when I'm not taking care of myself, not only do I suffer but my family suffers. So ditch the mom guilt and take the time that you need! I have a tendency to keep pushing my needs aside until I reach a breaking point. We've had a very busy fun summer so far. However, I've struggled to get some quality ' me ' time to decompress. I'll spare you the meltdown that ensued. But the reality check that followed prompted me to take action.

Running My Life

Wow, has it really been 2 years since my last post? I suppose that I allowed life to get in the way. For any faithful blog readers, I apologize. Although, I'm not sure how many people actually read blogs anymore. I think most people use other social media platforms.  (By the way, drop by and say hi on Insta. )  But for some reason, each year when I pay for my google domain, I can't seem to let it go. As silly as it sounds, this little space is mine. And lately I've been struggling with ownership and acceptance. And my domain renewal was a not so gentle reminder that I have a voice .  Seriously, you'd think by 48 that I'd have this figured out - nope - apparently not. However, I am wise enough to know that we have a choice to allow situations to harms us or make us stronger. I'm choosing to let this mid-life quandary make me stronger. And because of this, I'm setting goals, taking charge, and reexamining priorities.  Movin' on...

When The Planner In You Must Be Flexible

In case you haven’t figured this out by now, I’m a planner. I know - shocker right?!? :) So although I love substitute teaching, it’s making the planner in me anxious. And it’s been reeking havoc on my workouts. Basically the morning of or maybe the night before, I find out if I’m working. So my day ( that I thought I had planned ) can be turned upside down in an instant. But, truthfully, isn’t that really the same with everyone?
