To my strength loving divas check out (affiliate link) fashletics. I just found out about them today, and I have to say I'm quite smitten with their products. How cute is this?!?! I need to pass this along to Hubby. I do have a birthday coming up :-)

I'm a little bummed that I can't utilize my curling bar that I got for Christmas. But I'm trying to be a 'good girl' and follow the physical therapist's orders. I can neither confirm nor deny that I may have snuck in a few bicep curls here and there.
But as my injury situation unfolds (The Post I Didn't Want to Write, Physical Therapy Happened) the reality is, I think 2015 is going to be a re-building year for me. My body is truly a mess. My ITband on my left side (opposite the hurt hamstring) is now inflamed, and giving me fits after doing the PT exercises. My hamstring is settling down, but still quite angry. Doing bridges made it worse. And today,
I'm back to the compression sleeve.
It feel like one step forward, two steps back kind of thing. So I plan to have a heart-to-heart conversation with PT this week. Money for co-pays is running out. I can't continue to go 3 times a week, and I'm backing down to twice a week. But I can only continue that for a couple more weeks. Cliff notes version is I need to know the game plan. And he knows to know the reality that our time in therapy is going to be ending soon. And well, I'm still injured. So there are definitely a lot of what-ifs right now.
But I came across this quote yesterday... and it couldn't be more true for me right now.

So maybe 2015 is a re-build year - not much racing - only running for fun. If I can get well and stay well, I'll be one happy little #WillRun4IceCream Momma, and for me right now that will be more than enough!

I'm so sorry that you aren't recovering as fast as you had hoped. I posted on your FB but I'll post here too, 2012 was a wash. I didn't run much that year at all, due to a stress fracture and then I got Lyme disease. It was a tough year for me. While I was in the boot, I bought a road bike and that helped a ton. See if the PT will let you do some cross training. There has to be something you can do!
ReplyDeleteI know right!?! I did the stress fracture thing too so I know what you mean. PT says no cardio cause of the ITband thing going on. So I guess i'm just going to have to take it one step at a time. But I'm tired of being injured!
DeleteI love that jewellery - thanks for sharing! Wishing you a speedy recovery :-)
ReplyDeleteI love it too! It's so cool! Thanks... I"m not a very patient person so it feels like it's taking forever!
DeleteI feel your pain. Two ankle sprains on the same ankle and plantar fasciitis in 2014 for me. Injuries suck! But you'll be back and stronger than ever! Good luck!
