Injury Update - YES The Doctor Told Me To

Just wanted to give a quick update for anyone who might not have already heard. I went last week for a follow-up. I was actually in a lot of pain, as much pain as when the injury began. The x-ray did not show any fractures, BUT I was told that I could still have a fracture. I will need a bone scan or MRI to completely rule out any fractures. What did show up, however,

10K on Saturday

So I'm registered for the 10K this weekend. The farthest that I have run/walked has been 4.1 miles since I have started back running. This will be the first time that I have done a race without doing the distance first. My goal - first is just to finish - second I would like to run the majority of it - third I would like to come in under 1:15:00.

Regardless it will be a challenge, but one that I am excited about completing .

  1. Good luck on your 10K!
My husband and I are training now/again for the Hershey Half Marathon in Oct. We are in the relay which amounts to each of us running basically a 10K. I'm so far behind where I was this same time last year. I'm getting discouraged and worried that I won't be able to do the HHM a second time.
I hope you reach your goal this weekend. Run well!

  2. I also signed up for the Hershey Half - what was I thinking! My goal is not to get picked up by the bus since there is a time limit this year. I've yet to do a half - this should be interesting :)

I hear ya on the not being where you were last year. Hang in there and keep at it...
