Gifts For Runners Gift Guide 2018

Please Note: This post contains affiliate links, which means I receive a commission if you make a purchase using the affiliate link.

Although this is definitely not a comprehensive list, I thought I’d share with you some gift ideas for runners. These are things that I personally use, and I can personally say that I would recommend them to friends and family. So if you are in a bind for some last minute shopping, well here you go. You're welcome :)

Well, this is an easy one if you are looking for gifts for a female. Hands down Skirt Sports is my #1 pick. Yes, I am an ambassador for them, but I’m an ambassador because I LOVE their products. Use my code 323GLASS and save 15%. Why are they so great? I love the variety of styles that Skirt Sports has to offer. Really, they do have something for everyone. I spent YEARS and I do mean YEARS wearing baggy clothing and shorts over tights to try to cover myself while running or at the gym. This is how one piece of clothing really did change my outlook and how I saw myself.
So, without a doubt, if you are looking for workout attire (and even work attire - I wear my clothing from Skirt Sports to work also!) Skirt Sports is where you should go.

I also like Zensah and their compression socks and sleeves. After dealing with calf cramps and various injures over the years, Zensah is my go-to for all things compression.

If you like cute headbands, you’ll love Bondi Band. There are tons of styles to choose from. And use my code WILLRUN4ICECREAM and save.

Running Watch:
I am by far a Garmin girl. Although I do have a Tom Tom, I was never a fan. I just wasn’t. I’ve always just really loved my garmins, and I’ve had several through the years. I highly recommend the Garmin 220 if you just want a running watch to wear while you are running. I still use mine occasionally just because. I also have the Garmin Forerunner 35. In addition to GPS, it’s also a great step counter. But I’m currently using the Garmin Vivoactive3 and I highly recommend it. The GPS seems accurate. It’s also a step counter, and has a built-in heart rate monitor. I get my notifications from my iPhone. And I love that I can change the watch face plus add widgets. I think if you go with a Garmin you probably can’t go wrong.

Subscription Box:
You can’t go wrong with a StrideBox. StrideBox is a monthly subscription box with various types of snacks (and sometimes gear) for runners/fitness enthusiasts. It’s so much fun to get a box each month full of surprises. I love the excitement of seeing what’s inside. I love having the opportunity of trying different products. Because of StrideBox, I’ve fallen in love with several products that I would have never tried otherwise.

And last but certainly not least, Noxgear. If you haven't tried a Noxgear vest then you truly don't know what you are missing. The battery life is amazing. It's bright. There are several settings. It's comfortable and I usually forget that I'm wearing it. I won't run in low light or foggy conditions without it. Believe me when I said that you NEED this vest. And, they also make one for dogs. Use my code AMYGLASS1 and save 35%.

So there you go.. if you are in a pinch and looking for some great gift ideas for runners or fitness enthusiasts this should give you some ideas.

Happy shopping everyone!

Running My Life

Wow, has it really been 2 years since my last post? I suppose that I allowed life to get in the way. For any faithful blog readers, I apologize. Although, I'm not sure how many people actually read blogs anymore. I think most people use other social media platforms.  (By the way, drop by and say hi on Insta. )  But for some reason, each year when I pay for my google domain, I can't seem to let it go. As silly as it sounds, this little space is mine. And lately I've been struggling with ownership and acceptance. And my domain renewal was a not so gentle reminder that I have a voice .  Seriously, you'd think by 48 that I'd have this figured out - nope - apparently not. However, I am wise enough to know that we have a choice to allow situations to harms us or make us stronger. I'm choosing to let this mid-life quandary make me stronger. And because of this, I'm setting goals, taking charge, and reexamining priorities.  Movin' on...

Self Care Is Not Selfish It's Necessary

It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. And I'll say it just one more time in case you didn't hear me. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. I have found through experience that when I'm not taking care of myself, not only do I suffer but my family suffers. So ditch the mom guilt and take the time that you need! I have a tendency to keep pushing my needs aside until I reach a breaking point. We've had a very busy fun summer so far. However, I've struggled to get some quality ' me ' time to decompress. I'll spare you the meltdown that ensued. But the reality check that followed prompted me to take action.

When The Planner In You Must Be Flexible

In case you haven’t figured this out by now, I’m a planner. I know - shocker right?!? :) So although I love substitute teaching, it’s making the planner in me anxious. And it’s been reeking havoc on my workouts. Basically the morning of or maybe the night before, I find out if I’m working. So my day ( that I thought I had planned ) can be turned upside down in an instant. But, truthfully, isn’t that really the same with everyone?
