My Life As A Brand Ambassador

I thought I'd give a brief explanation as to what a Brand Ambassador is and why I am one. I'm sure that most you know that I am a Brand Ambassador. But I know a lot of you give me the deer in the headlights look because you don't really know what that means. :) So here is what a being a brand ambassador means to me.

First of all, not all ambassadorships are are the same. Some are better than others. (once again my opinion). Some require more than others. Some have better incentives, and the list goes on and on.

A brand ambassador is someone who helps represent a company, their products, and their beliefs. In most cases, you have to apply to be an ambassador. Although there have been times that I have been approached by companies to be an ambassador for them. The waiting game to find out if you got in can be quite stressful. For me it's an honor to be selected as an ambassador, and I take it very serious.

Obviously people become ambassadors for different reasons. Some people are only it it for the discount. I choose to be an ambassador because I am passionate about the products that I represent. I enjoy sharing that passion with others!

Do I enjoy the discount and incentives? Why sure! I put in a lot of work for these companies. But it's totally worth it.  I'm a firm believer in the products that I represent.

I've also had a few people ask me about how to become an ambassador. I would start by researching companies that you would like to represent. Check to see if they have an ambassador program. Make a note of the application dates. I usually write the dates on my calendar with a reminder so that I won't miss the application deadline.

Do you have to have a blog to be an ambassador? No, you don't. Most companies want you to have a social media presence, which doesn't always mean a blog, but each ambassador program is different.

But don't deviate from who you are. Don't try to be what you think the brand wants. Instead, you should always be authentic. If you and the brand are a good fit, you don't need to try to fit a certain mold.

I've said it before, and I will say it again.. BE YOU. Be who you are!

I love being an ambassador, and honestly in many ways it's changed my life. I know. It sounds cheesy, but it's true. I love the sense of community. And I'm honored to represent these companies.

  1. I just wrote a post on this subject as well--we share a lot of the same ideas, such as only representing products/companies that you really love and support. (Yeah, there are people just in it for the discount, which is a drag.) I'd love to hear your thoughts if you have some time to read it.

Self Care Is Not Selfish It's Necessary

It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. And I'll say it just one more time in case you didn't hear me. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. I have found through experience that when I'm not taking care of myself, not only do I suffer but my family suffers. So ditch the mom guilt and take the time that you need! I have a tendency to keep pushing my needs aside until I reach a breaking point. We've had a very busy fun summer so far. However, I've struggled to get some quality ' me ' time to decompress. I'll spare you the meltdown that ensued. But the reality check that followed prompted me to take action.

Running My Life

Wow, has it really been 2 years since my last post? I suppose that I allowed life to get in the way. For any faithful blog readers, I apologize. Although, I'm not sure how many people actually read blogs anymore. I think most people use other social media platforms.  (By the way, drop by and say hi on Insta. )  But for some reason, each year when I pay for my google domain, I can't seem to let it go. As silly as it sounds, this little space is mine. And lately I've been struggling with ownership and acceptance. And my domain renewal was a not so gentle reminder that I have a voice .  Seriously, you'd think by 48 that I'd have this figured out - nope - apparently not. However, I am wise enough to know that we have a choice to allow situations to harms us or make us stronger. I'm choosing to let this mid-life quandary make me stronger. And because of this, I'm setting goals, taking charge, and reexamining priorities.  Movin' on...

When The Planner In You Must Be Flexible

In case you haven’t figured this out by now, I’m a planner. I know - shocker right?!? :) So although I love substitute teaching, it’s making the planner in me anxious. And it’s been reeking havoc on my workouts. Basically the morning of or maybe the night before, I find out if I’m working. So my day ( that I thought I had planned ) can be turned upside down in an instant. But, truthfully, isn’t that really the same with everyone?
