Truth time - I've struggled a little with the transition back into the work force. I LOVE my job. But I went through a period of feeling very disconnected. And the last thing that I wanted to do was workout alone. So of course I turned to social media and asked if anyone in my area wanted to run/workout with me. Crickets. Yep, that's basically all that I got - crickets.
And then I got an email to try an app called Gixo. It's live guided fitness classes. I thought why not, and I signed up for a free trial.
Best.App.Ever
I didn't know what to expect,
but I fell in love with my very first class. I've never been able to do exercise videos, but this is a totally different experience. The instructors are awesome. I do feel like I'm working out in a group class (especially if the class is outside).
The classes have different formats. Several of the classes are outside and goals are set. After an easy run or walk is done, the instructor then gives you a target pace/distance for the next run/walk. I've pushed myself harder in the last few weeks than I have in a very long time. And I have loved every minute of it.
Some of the classes are only 15 minutes, and I actually thought that would be a waste of time. Wow was I wrong! I've found that the 15 minute quickie classes are a great workout, and they usually leave me one sweaty mess.
The core workout and booty workout are also great classes. Each are usually around 15 minutes, but it's enough to get in a great workout, but it's also short enough that I can sneak them in around other activities. You can message/call the instructors if you have questions or need modifications. I've found all of the instructors to be really helpful, friendly and great motivators.
I can't say enough good things about Gixo. I have truly found an app that has changed the way that I workout.
Just thought I'd share.
Let me know if you give it a try. I've love to join you for a class.
