I thought about doing a Wordless Wednesday post, but then I was was like.. yeah.. who am I kidding. I'm more of a Wednesday With Words kind of girl :)
I don't know about you, but I have had several friends who have taken a break from facebook and/or other social media. Admittedly, I've backed off also. Although I am finding that I am back online more than in the last couple of weeks, I still have to work on keeping my thoughts where they need to be.
My bible study class is reading The 4:8 Principle (FYI, this post contains affiliate links, this is one of them in addition to the other links and/or images in this post)
I'm only on Chapter 2, but so far I'm really loving the concept. The cliff notes version of what I've read so far is you have a choice when it comes to what you allow yourself to think about.
You can choose to think negative thoughts or positive thoughts. And this is an area of my life that really needs a lot of work. And it's an area that I'm working on. And although I'm new to the book, I'm really enjoying it. So in my opinion, it's really worth checking out.

But so often I look for outside sources to make me happy, or fulfilled or insert whatever emotion here. And what I've found to be true is the quote by Hellen Keller "What I am looking for is not out there. It is in me."
And I have the choice of what I allow my mind to dwell on. I also have the choice of what I say to others.
Am I going to choose to build them up? Or tear them down?
So my friends, this was in no way a wordless Wednesday (or any other day) post, but I hope it gave you some encouragement and made you stop and think about what you are thinking about.... and what words you are speaking..
***update 8/20/17
I finished the 4:8 Principle. I highly recommend it. In fact, I'm starting 40 Days to a Joy-Filled life. With recent events in my personal life with Lil Man starting school, me starting employment, and just the overall state of things in the world, I think this will beneficial for me.
Your thoughts and speech are powerful! How are you using them?
