Skorch Waterproof Backpack - Comfortable Durable & Waterproof

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

Recently, hiking has quickly become a favorite activity for me and Lil Man. It's been a pleasure to watch him experience the outdoors. But I'm also finding that he requires more things that I do on a hike :)  The Skorch Waterproof Backpack couldn't have come at a more perfect time.

Did I mention that it was waterproof?
I love the idea that I don't have to worry about things getting wet if a quick shower pops up. But in addition to hiking, this backpack will come in handy at Hershey Park (especially when we are at the water park). I know that this will keep our gear dry.

Also, this would be perfect for outdoor water activities (boating, fishing etc). So as you can see, I will get a lot, and I mean a lot of use out of the Skorch Waterproof Backpack.

It was super comfortable to wear. I actually forgot that I was wearing it on our recent hike.

It holds a lot of gear, but it's compact. My 4 year old was even able to wear it today. I can fit a small blanket along with food and there is still room left. One downside is that it doesn't have any zippered pockets; so if I wanted inside I had to take it off and open it. But that wasn't really that big of a deal. I'm a compartment packer, and I had packed things in smaller containers so that they were easy to grab as needed.

I'd like to point out that another added bonus was that it was easy to clean.

Comfortable, durable and waterproof - the Skorch Waterproof backpack is a great backpack.

Self Care Is Not Selfish It's Necessary

It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. And I'll say it just one more time in case you didn't hear me. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. I have found through experience that when I'm not taking care of myself, not only do I suffer but my family suffers. So ditch the mom guilt and take the time that you need! I have a tendency to keep pushing my needs aside until I reach a breaking point. We've had a very busy fun summer so far. However, I've struggled to get some quality ' me ' time to decompress. I'll spare you the meltdown that ensued. But the reality check that followed prompted me to take action.

Pinrose Petal Pack Review and Giveaway - 10 Winners!

Bear with me, I know this blog is mainly about fitness, nutrition, and occasionally about being a stay-at-home mom, but I got the chance to review what I think is a pretty cool product and I wanted to share it with you. I'm not one to usually wear perfume. I have allergies, and I'm super sensitive to smells. So usually I just bypass perfume. But when I heard about Pinrose , I was intrigued. Being someone who is constantly in motion, and I know that many of you are the same way, I found this product to be very useful.  I'm talking about Pinrose, and their fragrances are in petal packs. They are perfect on-the-go packs. And on their website they have a  synesthesia   test where you basically look at a series of images and they conclude from that test what they think would be your best fragrances. I found the test very interesting. However, you were supposed to go with your gut and not think too long. On one of the images I actually changed my mind and changed...

Running My Life

Wow, has it really been 2 years since my last post? I suppose that I allowed life to get in the way. For any faithful blog readers, I apologize. Although, I'm not sure how many people actually read blogs anymore. I think most people use other social media platforms.  (By the way, drop by and say hi on Insta. )  But for some reason, each year when I pay for my google domain, I can't seem to let it go. As silly as it sounds, this little space is mine. And lately I've been struggling with ownership and acceptance. And my domain renewal was a not so gentle reminder that I have a voice .  Seriously, you'd think by 48 that I'd have this figured out - nope - apparently not. However, I am wise enough to know that we have a choice to allow situations to harms us or make us stronger. I'm choosing to let this mid-life quandary make me stronger. And because of this, I'm setting goals, taking charge, and reexamining priorities.  Movin' on...
