There are some days that the treadmill just won't cut it. You know what I mean? Well today was one of those days. I had planned on attempting my first 5 miler (since injury). And the thoughts of being in my basement, on the treadmill just didn't sound like the way that I wanted to do it.
I had originally planned to meet some friends at 5:30am, but those plans changed. Instead, I was able to run an hour later (hello daylight) However, I had my (affiliate link) Knuckle Lights ready. I love my knuckle lights and use them quite often. I actually forget I'm even carrying them.
So I got dressed to attempt my 5 miles, opened the door, and it was snowing.

I smiled, kissed Lil Man and Hubby goodbye and
off I went. The first mile or two, the snow was falling at a steady rate. After that it eased up. But it was beautiful, and it was what I needed today.
Nothing like a bone chilling running to clear your head.... :)
Slower than pre-injury, but I'm trying to focus on each new milestone with this injury.
So I'm pleased with myself for 5 miles today. And I'm glad that I was able to get outside for today's outdoor workout with the #LJFitChallenge.
So, do you exercise outside in the winter?

Good for you! I run outside year round, but I draw the line at zero. Today we're below so it was the mill for me.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. The wind chills are below 0 here today... it will be a TM day for me :)
