#TuesdayTidbit - Don't Compare

Just don't! Stop! Don't compare yourself to others - not their writing, their blog stats, their number of followers, the way that they always look put together while you look like you just washed up on the shore from a shipwreck, the miles they log, the pounds they lift, and their finish times. Just stop because it's a slippery slope down a very dark path.

This is the conversation that I have with myself far too often. I am
a competitive person. I just am. And in some ways it's a good thing. It pushes me to push myself. And looking at others' accomplishments can be very inspiring and motivating.

But when I move over into 'comparison' mode, then I lose my joy. And inspiration becomes defeat.

So today's #TuesdayTidbit is don't compare! You are enough!

  1. I think competitive is great. But we should be competing with ourselves. As long as we are improving, progressing, moving in a positive direction, it's a win. Great reminder.

    1. I agree! And I'm having to remind myself that I can't compare myself to 'before' injury but have to set a new starting point.

  4. This is great! I try so hard not to compare myself to others bc you are your biggest critique. So as long as you do your best, that's all that matters. --L
