I have always wanted to try a yoga strap. And this one by Clever Yoga, looks like an excellent one to try.
As you know, I'm trying to incorporate yoga into my workout routine. However, Physical Therapy wouldn't allow anything but their PT exercises, so I haven't been able to do any yoga lately, and I have to say
that I have missed it.
But, I think my Physical Therapy (at least for now) is coming to an end. In fact, I cancelled last week's appointment, and I cancelled this upcoming week. Mainly because trying to correct the misalignment has cause other issues such as pinched nerves and lower back pain that I was not experiencing in the past. I'm not saying that I am 'finished' with physical therapy, I'm just taking a couple of weeks off to let my body regroup from all of the manual manipulations. And I'm doing a little trial and error on my own to see what aggravates things, and what I can tolerate.
So far I've been able to complete a 3 mile run on the treadmill, and a 2 mile run outside with minimal pain. I'm pleased with that. It was a beautiful run in the snow yesterday.
And today, I did a little stretching using the Clever Yoga strap.
And I have to say that it felt great. I have definitely lost a lot of my flexibility, and I think the Clever Yoga Strap is going to be great to help me with improving my flexibility and my balance. And don't think the strap is short by any means. I have it doubled in the first photo of me stretching. :)
I love how I can loop it over my foot (or feet), and I don't have to worry about it slipping off. And with the Clever Yoga Strap, I'm able to hold poses longer with the strap than without.
Overall, I love it. I think it's well made, seems very durable, and I can see me using it for years. I am so glad to have it among my workout gear.
And *drum roll please* one of you can win your own Clever Yoga Strap. Just enter the giveaway tool below.

I do love my yoga!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying it more and more!
DeleteI've never used one, but I've tried using resistance bands for the same purpose? :P
ReplyDeleteMe too - which is why i like the strap because it stays on and there isn't as much 'give'
DeleteCongrats on your creative find - I have something similar that I forgot about - you've inspired me to get it back in use :)
ReplyDelete:) Enjoy your workout!
DeleteI use one at the gym all the time. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI have used resistance bands in at-home work outs but those were just resistance band based routines and not yoga straps, per say. I'm curious to see how I could incorporate this into my own at home yoga routine as I've never used a yoga strap before.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have. My chiropractor (aka my brother) gave me one to help stretch out my shoulder. I don't use it as much as the doctor ordered though...:-P
