A Love Letter From God Book Review & Giveaway

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

As you know, I'm Not Just A Runner, and one of the many things that I am is a stay-at-home Mom to Lil Man. He's my workout buddy, even through physical therapy.

And one of the things that we enjoy doing together, other than exercising, dancing, throwing a ball, playing chase, trains and cars is read.

When he was just a baby, Hubby and I read to him daily. He gets a book or three at nap/quiet time, and the same again at bedtime. And of course we read in between if the mood strikes.

So when I heard about A Love Letter From God by P.K. Hallinan, I thought it would be something that Lil Man and I would enjoy reading. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised when I opened this book.

To me, children's books should be bright (my personal opinion of course). I think it needs to be visually appealing (at least for Lil Man) to keep his attention. And then, the book needs to make sense. I don't know how many books I will pick up to read and they don't have any story-line at all. I mean, I will finish reading and as an adult think 'huh, that didn't make any sense'.

But from the first glance, A Love Letter from God, was definitely visually stunning. The colors were vibrant and bold. And, as an added bonus there were cutouts. Lil Man loved and I mean absolutely loved the cutouts. He named each shape on each page, and it definitely helped to hold his attention.

And, I loved the story-line. Yes, it had one! In fact, it had a great one for our family. I realize this book has a targeted audience since the title is A Love Letter From God, but it was great for our family. And it quickly became one of my favorite books to read to Lil Man.

And I would like to giveaway a copy to your family. Please enter the giveaway form below.

Pinrose Petal Pack Review and Giveaway - 10 Winners!

Bear with me, I know this blog is mainly about fitness, nutrition, and occasionally about being a stay-at-home mom, but I got the chance to review what I think is a pretty cool product and I wanted to share it with you. I'm not one to usually wear perfume. I have allergies, and I'm super sensitive to smells. So usually I just bypass perfume. But when I heard about Pinrose , I was intrigued. Being someone who is constantly in motion, and I know that many of you are the same way, I found this product to be very useful.  I'm talking about Pinrose, and their fragrances are in petal packs. They are perfect on-the-go packs. And on their website they have a  synesthesia   test where you basically look at a series of images and they conclude from that test what they think would be your best fragrances. I found the test very interesting. However, you were supposed to go with your gut and not think too long. On one of the images I actually changed my mind and changed...

Jogging Strollers Freedom And Fresh Air

Full Disclosure: I have partnered with Thule to #giveaway a Thule jogging stroller, but I have not been compensated in any form.  I remember when Lil Man was a baby. My only time to get in a workout was before Hubby went to work. Which meant I had to run at 5am or 6am after being up most of the night with Lil Man. You guessed it, those early morning runs just didn't happen most days. I tried. I really did, but I was exhausted. Yes, I have a treadmill which helped. But it didn't give me the freedom ( or the fresh air ) that my jogging stroller did. Pushing the stroller was hard. It became a challenge that I looked forward to overcoming. And on those days that running just wasn't going to happen, walking could. So I did. I could take Lil Man out at any time and get some exercise and fresh air. Sometimes it was all we needed to change both of our moods.

Pro Compression Marathon Socks Review & #Giveaway!

*affiliate links Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience. If you know me, or have been following my blog for awhile, then you know that I am a firm believe in compression. Last year, I started having calf cramps, and my running buddies suggested calf sleeves. I listened and I am so very glad that I did! And honestly, I won't run without using compression. And once my run is over, I will usually 9 times out of 10 put on a pair of Pro Compression Marathon Socks for recovery. (FYI, I also love their low trainers to run in) Sshhh.. don't tell Hubby but I have an entire drawer full of Pro Compression socks. And well, I wear them everywhere - grocery shopping, preschool, you name it.
