Fitness Friday Linkup 5/6/2013

When I lived in MS, my allergies were a pain. But after I moved to PA, I didn't suffer from allergies at all ... until now. (sigh). This year has been tough! After the 5K this weekend, I've been miserable.

I stayed inside for Tuesday's run and hit the treadmill. Thursday, I had planned to venture out with Lil Man in the jogging stroller, but I opted for a power walk on the treadmill.

Today's run was also indoors. I pushed through a 3 mile tempo run, but I feel awful. I took Allegra this morning (again), and it's just not helping. So I went and bought some Zyrtec. I took it also. I wish I could say that I felt a lot better, but honestly I don't. And, yes I know you aren't really supposed to take Allegra and Zyrtec together. I am aware they are both antihistamines. But I'm sneezing non stop and trying to find some relief.

I'm hoping since the Allegra didn't work, that the Zyrtec will help. I know it can take several days before it actually really 'works' the way that it is supposed to.

My LR this weekend is 10 miles. I do not plan to do that on the treadmill. So I really hope I'm better by Sunday!

Pinrose Petal Pack Review and Giveaway - 10 Winners!

Bear with me, I know this blog is mainly about fitness, nutrition, and occasionally about being a stay-at-home mom, but I got the chance to review what I think is a pretty cool product and I wanted to share it with you. I'm not one to usually wear perfume. I have allergies, and I'm super sensitive to smells. So usually I just bypass perfume. But when I heard about Pinrose , I was intrigued. Being someone who is constantly in motion, and I know that many of you are the same way, I found this product to be very useful.  I'm talking about Pinrose, and their fragrances are in petal packs. They are perfect on-the-go packs. And on their website they have a  synesthesia   test where you basically look at a series of images and they conclude from that test what they think would be your best fragrances. I found the test very interesting. However, you were supposed to go with your gut and not think too long. On one of the images I actually changed my mind and changed...

Jogging Strollers Freedom And Fresh Air

Full Disclosure: I have partnered with Thule to #giveaway a Thule jogging stroller, but I have not been compensated in any form.  I remember when Lil Man was a baby. My only time to get in a workout was before Hubby went to work. Which meant I had to run at 5am or 6am after being up most of the night with Lil Man. You guessed it, those early morning runs just didn't happen most days. I tried. I really did, but I was exhausted. Yes, I have a treadmill which helped. But it didn't give me the freedom ( or the fresh air ) that my jogging stroller did. Pushing the stroller was hard. It became a challenge that I looked forward to overcoming. And on those days that running just wasn't going to happen, walking could. So I did. I could take Lil Man out at any time and get some exercise and fresh air. Sometimes it was all we needed to change both of our moods.

Pro Compression Marathon Socks Review & #Giveaway!

*affiliate links Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience. If you know me, or have been following my blog for awhile, then you know that I am a firm believe in compression. Last year, I started having calf cramps, and my running buddies suggested calf sleeves. I listened and I am so very glad that I did! And honestly, I won't run without using compression. And once my run is over, I will usually 9 times out of 10 put on a pair of Pro Compression Marathon Socks for recovery. (FYI, I also love their low trainers to run in) Sshhh.. don't tell Hubby but I have an entire drawer full of Pro Compression socks. And well, I wear them everywhere - grocery shopping, preschool, you name it.
