Sooooo.. I was told not to run any farther than 3 miles until I had no pain while running (with a NO cheating thrown in there). I did make it 3 miles on the treadmill today (yeah!), but I had slight pain in my calves and behind my knees (boo!). Also, I usually run with the incline at 1%, but I had to keep it at 0% today. I guess that means I'm still recovering from the Half. This has thrown my training schedule off, but thankfully I'm not freaking out about it (at the moment). It's also going to be off the next couple of weeks; I'm just trying to make the best of it.
I'm happy that I'm able to run 3 miles and that things are improving. I did yoga today and was very surprised at how tight everything was. But I was also shown some stretching exercise to help with my knee.
So it looks like tomorrow will be another 3 miler and see how it goes.

My son will play outside at any time and in any weather. When he was little, my family couldn't believe that we played outside all year. I heard "Isn't it too cold to be outside?" You have to remember that our families live in Mississippi and Texas. And although it does get cold there, most days it warms up during the day, and then repeats the process the following day.
Pennsylvania weather was an adjustment for me in that some days it just doesn't feel like it warms up very much in the winter. But that being said, it doesn't stop us from getting outside. And honestly it shouldn't stop you either as long as the temperature isn't dangerously low.
We dress in layers. We wear hats and gloves when we need them. We keep moving. I try to find activities that will keep us active and moving while we are outside.
Sometimes, you just want to eat something with a crunch. And for me, a sweet crunch is even better. I was given the opportunity to try Natural Sins
And I would love to show you a picture of what the pineapple ones look like, but Lil Man ate them all. YES, I mean he ate 2 bags before I could even snap one picture. He liked them that much. I did get to try them, but he ate the majority of them.
I think this is an awesome idea, and I can't wait to get one. This looks like multi-tasking at its finest. I'm talking about The Convertible HDL by PRracer.
What it is? It's a skull cap / headband combo that is equipped to hold a device like a headlamp or a camera. The Convertible HDL is designed with the latest technology. Not only does it light your way, but it has a camera to capture your run.
