You Don't Have To Race To Be A Runner

Ok.... just gonna toss this out there... if you aren't currently running races / participating in organized events, it does NOT make you any less of a runner or athlete. This past year has definitely been a whirlwind of a year with injuries and health related issues for me. But because of my experiences, it's also changed my perspective on a lot of things.

I used to think that

I Love Food!

This pretty much sums it up for me lately! And with my increased mileage, I'm starting to feel my 'skipping nutritious meals' for sugary snacks. I'm not recovering the way that I need to recover.

I am not pleased with my eating lately. And I really want to improve my running, and I want to be able to keep running the distances and/or pace that I want to run.

So it looks like back to square one with the nutrition. Maybe it's time I saw a nutritionalist.

  1. I hear ya! Helps to write it before you bite it, makes it more real. Yes, I did stop at the grocery and pick up a half dozen sour cream donut holes, they were good, should just apply them directly to my jiggly belly.

    1. I like the 'write it before you bite it'. I do try keep a food journal, but I usually eat first then log. Maybe I'll log then eat :)

And the donut holes sound yummy LOL

  2. I have the same problem! Great post! I just discovered your blog, I am following you now, can you follow me back?
