CompressionZ Heart Rate Monitor Watch Review

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

I'm a technology nerd - always have been. And I've been on the market for awhile to find a watch to calculate my calorie burn when doing strength training etc. I usually can guess my calorie burn with running (for me, it's about 70 calories per mile), but strength training was a whole new beast for me. And I was clueless about my calorie burn.

I was able to test the CompressionZ Heart Rate Monitor Watch

I've used heart rate monitors in the past, but they have always required a chest strap. So the thoughts of being able to know my heart rate without a chest strap sounded awesome.

In my case, it was a little too good to be true. I am still on the market for something that will constantly tell me what my heart rate is - this watch doesn't do that. I'm actually not sure there is one out there that does that doesn't require a chest strap? But I haven't researched to see.

However, the CompressionZ Heart Rate monitor watch has a lot of functions. It has an alarm, chrono, and exercise function. I used the exercise function the most. I was able to track the amount of time along with calorie burn and my heart rate. Although the heart rate wasn't constant, I was able to push a button and have it read my heart rate. Sometimes it didn't read properly, but when it did, I felt it was fairly accurate. There is an HR button that you can press to get your HR, but within the exercise function you can also press it to get your HR during exercise.

I think one thing that I could have used a little more of would have been more instructions on how to use the watch, but after internet searches I was able to get some tips.

If you are looking for a watch to give you a constant heart rate during exercise, I haven't found that this watch does that. But overall I feel that the CompressionZ Heart Rate Monitor watch does what it claims to do (here are the bullet-ed points from Amazon).. although I can't say that it necessarily reduces stress!

  • Calculate your heart rate and the calories burned according to the preset age, weight and sex
  • Available Modes: Time mode / Daily Alarm Mode /Chronograph mode /Pulse Mode / Exercise Mode
  • Exercise Counter with Automatic and Manual override Calorie Counter
  • Help to reduce stress

Pinrose Petal Pack Review and Giveaway - 10 Winners!

Bear with me, I know this blog is mainly about fitness, nutrition, and occasionally about being a stay-at-home mom, but I got the chance to review what I think is a pretty cool product and I wanted to share it with you. I'm not one to usually wear perfume. I have allergies, and I'm super sensitive to smells. So usually I just bypass perfume. But when I heard about Pinrose , I was intrigued. Being someone who is constantly in motion, and I know that many of you are the same way, I found this product to be very useful.  I'm talking about Pinrose, and their fragrances are in petal packs. They are perfect on-the-go packs. And on their website they have a  synesthesia   test where you basically look at a series of images and they conclude from that test what they think would be your best fragrances. I found the test very interesting. However, you were supposed to go with your gut and not think too long. On one of the images I actually changed my mind and changed...

Self Care Is Not Selfish It's Necessary

It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. And I'll say it just one more time in case you didn't hear me. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. I have found through experience that when I'm not taking care of myself, not only do I suffer but my family suffers. So ditch the mom guilt and take the time that you need! I have a tendency to keep pushing my needs aside until I reach a breaking point. We've had a very busy fun summer so far. However, I've struggled to get some quality ' me ' time to decompress. I'll spare you the meltdown that ensued. But the reality check that followed prompted me to take action.

Jogging Strollers Freedom And Fresh Air

Full Disclosure: I have partnered with Thule to #giveaway a Thule jogging stroller, but I have not been compensated in any form.  I remember when Lil Man was a baby. My only time to get in a workout was before Hubby went to work. Which meant I had to run at 5am or 6am after being up most of the night with Lil Man. You guessed it, those early morning runs just didn't happen most days. I tried. I really did, but I was exhausted. Yes, I have a treadmill which helped. But it didn't give me the freedom ( or the fresh air ) that my jogging stroller did. Pushing the stroller was hard. It became a challenge that I looked forward to overcoming. And on those days that running just wasn't going to happen, walking could. So I did. I could take Lil Man out at any time and get some exercise and fresh air. Sometimes it was all we needed to change both of our moods.
