Rodan+Fields Soothe Product Review

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

Ok, time to come clean here (no pun intended), I've never been one to be too concerned about my skin. My routine is usually running a cloth over my face, slapping on some drugstore moisturizer, and then I'd be on my way. Most of you that know me in *real life* know I seldom wear makeup, especially after having Lil Man. And I usually don't take a lot of time with my appearance (hangs head in shame).

But as I've gotten older, gulp, now in the "Master's Category", I'm wishing I'd started at a younger age being a little more concerned about my skin. And I keep hearing about Rodan+Fields and how great their products are. And I'll honestly say that I was hesitant to try them. Like I said, I'm not one to really put a lot of 'time' into my routine.

But then I decided that I need to get little more serious about skincare, and if I didn't like it, then I didn't like it. But I was game to try it.

This is the kit that I'm trying.

There are 4 steps, a little more than my wash cloth and drugstore moisturizer, but it really didn't take any extra time. Actually, it was kindof nice to take care of myself.

Here are my before pics.

The lighting in the pictures wasn't the best. But I have a red tint to my face, and I have scars from impetigo. I know that this skincare routine won't remove the scars.

But here is a little info for the Rodan+Fields website:

In an independent clinical study, subjects with hyper-sensitive skin achieved the following results:
  • REDNESS: 56% reduction after five minutes and 67% reduction after two weeks
  • PEELING: 80% reduction after five minutes and 80% reduction after two weeks
  • DRYNESS: 79% reduction after five minutes and 74% reduction after two weeks
  • STINGING: 60% reduction after five minutes and 90% reduction after two weeks
  • OVERALL IRRITATION: 78% reduction after five minutes and 72% reduction after two weeks

So, I'm curious to see what kind of results I will get. My skin tone naturally has a reddish hue; so I don't expect my skin to be lily white by using these products. But I've been using Rodan+Fields Soothe regimen for a few days now.

My first thoughts:

Wow .... yeah..... really wow. I absolutely love how the products feel. And I love how they are making my skin feel. In just a few days, I feel like my skin already looks healthier. So far I am extremely pleased.

Stay tuned. In a couple of weeks, I plan to update with more pictures, and I'll let you know how I'm liking Rodan+Fields.

Pinrose Petal Pack Review and Giveaway - 10 Winners!

Bear with me, I know this blog is mainly about fitness, nutrition, and occasionally about being a stay-at-home mom, but I got the chance to review what I think is a pretty cool product and I wanted to share it with you. I'm not one to usually wear perfume. I have allergies, and I'm super sensitive to smells. So usually I just bypass perfume. But when I heard about Pinrose , I was intrigued. Being someone who is constantly in motion, and I know that many of you are the same way, I found this product to be very useful.  I'm talking about Pinrose, and their fragrances are in petal packs. They are perfect on-the-go packs. And on their website they have a  synesthesia   test where you basically look at a series of images and they conclude from that test what they think would be your best fragrances. I found the test very interesting. However, you were supposed to go with your gut and not think too long. On one of the images I actually changed my mind and changed...

Self Care Is Not Selfish It's Necessary

It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. And I'll say it just one more time in case you didn't hear me. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. I have found through experience that when I'm not taking care of myself, not only do I suffer but my family suffers. So ditch the mom guilt and take the time that you need! I have a tendency to keep pushing my needs aside until I reach a breaking point. We've had a very busy fun summer so far. However, I've struggled to get some quality ' me ' time to decompress. I'll spare you the meltdown that ensued. But the reality check that followed prompted me to take action.

Jogging Strollers Freedom And Fresh Air

Full Disclosure: I have partnered with Thule to #giveaway a Thule jogging stroller, but I have not been compensated in any form.  I remember when Lil Man was a baby. My only time to get in a workout was before Hubby went to work. Which meant I had to run at 5am or 6am after being up most of the night with Lil Man. You guessed it, those early morning runs just didn't happen most days. I tried. I really did, but I was exhausted. Yes, I have a treadmill which helped. But it didn't give me the freedom ( or the fresh air ) that my jogging stroller did. Pushing the stroller was hard. It became a challenge that I looked forward to overcoming. And on those days that running just wasn't going to happen, walking could. So I did. I could take Lil Man out at any time and get some exercise and fresh air. Sometimes it was all we needed to change both of our moods.
