6 Useful Photo Editing Apps For Social Media

This is by no means a comprehensive list. In fact, if you know of an awesome app, please leave me a comment below.

But since I am a blogger, and I am very active on social media, I do use several apps to help me edit and create pictures. And even if you aren't a blogger or a social media fanatic, these apps (in my opinion) are still great for personal use to create great photos.

So let's get started....

Canva is an app that I just started learning to use. What I like about this app is the variety of layouts. I've found out recently that different social media platforms work better with different size images and layouts. Canva does the work for you. You can choose from blog graphic, twitter graphic, pinterest, instagram and the list goes on and on. In fact, the image above was created with Canva.

Snapseed is my go-to app for blurring the background of images. If I take a pic in a crowded area, I often use Snapseed to try to blur the images of people that I don't know. But it does much much more than that. There are several filters along with the ability to add text. Actually, I haven't even learned how to use some of the features yet. It's a great app. And yes it's free.

I use Layout  from instagram frequently when I want to make collages. Also, Live Collage  is another easy to use great app to create a collage of pictures and add backgrounds.

Lately, one app that I'm having a lot of fun with is Prisma. It's fun to see what the different filters will look like.

And another app that I've just discovered is the color pop effects app. With this app, the image is converted to grey scale, and then you choose which section of the picture to have in color. It's fun, and it can be very bold. And it can really give a photo a new fresh look.

And for my android users, I apologize that all of these links are for the iPhone. But, I'm fairly certain most of these apps are also available for the android.

And of course, you can always check out my instagram for more pics and videos where basically I just enjoy having fun being me https://www.instagram.com/Willrun4icecream/

So there you have it... 6 fun useful apps for social media. Do you have any that you'd like to add?

Writing is one of my passions, and I'm stepping out there on faith to follow my dream. If you like this blog or this post, please take a moment to share it with friends.

Self Care Is Not Selfish It's Necessary

It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. And I'll say it just one more time in case you didn't hear me. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. I have found through experience that when I'm not taking care of myself, not only do I suffer but my family suffers. So ditch the mom guilt and take the time that you need! I have a tendency to keep pushing my needs aside until I reach a breaking point. We've had a very busy fun summer so far. However, I've struggled to get some quality ' me ' time to decompress. I'll spare you the meltdown that ensued. But the reality check that followed prompted me to take action.

Running My Life

Wow, has it really been 2 years since my last post? I suppose that I allowed life to get in the way. For any faithful blog readers, I apologize. Although, I'm not sure how many people actually read blogs anymore. I think most people use other social media platforms.  (By the way, drop by and say hi on Insta. )  But for some reason, each year when I pay for my google domain, I can't seem to let it go. As silly as it sounds, this little space is mine. And lately I've been struggling with ownership and acceptance. And my domain renewal was a not so gentle reminder that I have a voice .  Seriously, you'd think by 48 that I'd have this figured out - nope - apparently not. However, I am wise enough to know that we have a choice to allow situations to harms us or make us stronger. I'm choosing to let this mid-life quandary make me stronger. And because of this, I'm setting goals, taking charge, and reexamining priorities.  Movin' on...

When The Planner In You Must Be Flexible

In case you haven’t figured this out by now, I’m a planner. I know - shocker right?!? :) So although I love substitute teaching, it’s making the planner in me anxious. And it’s been reeking havoc on my workouts. Basically the morning of or maybe the night before, I find out if I’m working. So my day ( that I thought I had planned ) can be turned upside down in an instant. But, truthfully, isn’t that really the same with everyone?
