Rechargeable Knuckle Lights

Full Disclosure: I received a free pair of knuckle lights free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. BUT I also purchased another pair during the kickstarter campaign. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

It's that time of the year where the sun rises a little later in the day. Which for me means that I often run in the dark or at least start my run in the dark. Did I mention that I'm scared to run in the dark!! ha.

But, if I want to run before Hubby goes to work, that often means, yep, running in the dark.

I've been using (affiliate link)  Knuckle Lights for years. My one big complaint was the battery life (or lack thereof) In fact, I took my batteries out after each run to try to conserve the battery life. It wasn't a big deal to have to put them in every time before a run. But that did require me to remember to grab the batteries with the lights, in addition to just taking the time to do it.

So when I heard that (affiliate linkKnuckle Lights was coming out with a rechargeable version, I was
all over that. I jumped in on the kickstarter, and anxiously waited for them to be manufactured and delivered.

My first thought was that they might be slightly heavier than the original version. But once I took them out for a run, if they are, it was definitely not noticeable.

Like the original, the beam is awesome. There are three options from bright, low and flashing. They are easy to carry (I forget that I have them in my hands). The straps are comfortable and easily adjusted. And they have magnets on the sides so that they can stay together. LOVE!

As I'm trying to quickly get out of the house, I don't have to worry about trying to keep them together. This was an added upgrade that I didn't think that much about.. but I love it.

And the rechargeable part.... it is awesome!!!! My knuckle lights are always charged and ready to go. Basically I can grab and go... and I love that.

And honestly, if you run in low light or darkness, I encourage you to check out the new (affiliateKnuckle Lights

I truly love them, and I think you will too.

  1. I love my knucklelights and I'm so excited that they now have rechargeable ones! It seems like the batteries don't last very long. Or more like I forget to take them out when I'm using my knucklelights on a regular basis. In any case, rechargeable is great!

Self Care Is Not Selfish It's Necessary

It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. And I'll say it just one more time in case you didn't hear me. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. I have found through experience that when I'm not taking care of myself, not only do I suffer but my family suffers. So ditch the mom guilt and take the time that you need! I have a tendency to keep pushing my needs aside until I reach a breaking point. We've had a very busy fun summer so far. However, I've struggled to get some quality ' me ' time to decompress. I'll spare you the meltdown that ensued. But the reality check that followed prompted me to take action.

Running My Life

Wow, has it really been 2 years since my last post? I suppose that I allowed life to get in the way. For any faithful blog readers, I apologize. Although, I'm not sure how many people actually read blogs anymore. I think most people use other social media platforms.  (By the way, drop by and say hi on Insta. )  But for some reason, each year when I pay for my google domain, I can't seem to let it go. As silly as it sounds, this little space is mine. And lately I've been struggling with ownership and acceptance. And my domain renewal was a not so gentle reminder that I have a voice .  Seriously, you'd think by 48 that I'd have this figured out - nope - apparently not. However, I am wise enough to know that we have a choice to allow situations to harms us or make us stronger. I'm choosing to let this mid-life quandary make me stronger. And because of this, I'm setting goals, taking charge, and reexamining priorities.  Movin' on...

When The Planner In You Must Be Flexible

In case you haven’t figured this out by now, I’m a planner. I know - shocker right?!? :) So although I love substitute teaching, it’s making the planner in me anxious. And it’s been reeking havoc on my workouts. Basically the morning of or maybe the night before, I find out if I’m working. So my day ( that I thought I had planned ) can be turned upside down in an instant. But, truthfully, isn’t that really the same with everyone?
