Stay In Place Or Slip? Bolder Band Review And Giveaway

Full Disclosure: I received products free of charge for the purpose of providing a review. My opinions are completely my own based on my experience.

When I'm shopping for a headband, the first thing that I usually want to know is - Will the headband stay in place or is it going to slip off of my head? Then I want to know if it's actually going to help with keeping the sweat out of my eyes.

Let me introduce you to the Bolder Band.

My first thought was "wow, this is really a cute headband." But what I really wanted to know was is it going to stay put. And about a mile into the run, it slipped. But, if you notice the placement of the band, you will see that I'm not really wearing it where I should be. I had it too far back on my head. I should have checked out their video on the best way to wear the bolder band.

Once I moved it down during the run, it did not slip, it stayed put, and it felt great. I also have a small head, and there is one size smaller than the one that I am wearing.

I wore it for a 12 mile run, and of course I was drenched with sweat. But the Bolder Band did a great job of keeping the sweat out of my eyes. And another thing that I liked was that by the time I got home from my run, the Bolder Band was almost completely dry. Say what?!? With some of my other headbands that I wear, they seem to hold the sweat for quite some time, and it takes them awhile to dry. With the Bolder Band, it was actually dry, and honestly I could have worn it around town to help hold my hair back.

I'm not exactly the fashionista, but I would wear Bolder Bands other than just for exercise. They are versatile, and they work.

But don't take my word for it. I'd like to give away one Bolder Band so that you can try it too.

  1. I have always wanted to try one of these bolder bands. I have the hardest time getting other bands to stay put... maybe I'll give one of these a try.

  3. I'd love to try this headband. If it's too hot I'm inside on my elliptical sweating into my eyes. If I'm outside on the trails in Northern VA (W&OD is really good) I'm sweating in my face and can't ever find a headband that works and wicks away sweat.

  5. I'd love to try these! I can't seem to find a headband that fits... they either slide/pop off in about 2.5 seconds, or give me such a headache that I take them off myself! I'm just now trying to get into jogging, and would love this as motivation!

Self Care Is Not Selfish It's Necessary

It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. And I'll say it just one more time in case you didn't hear me. It's not selfish to take care of yourself. I have found through experience that when I'm not taking care of myself, not only do I suffer but my family suffers. So ditch the mom guilt and take the time that you need! I have a tendency to keep pushing my needs aside until I reach a breaking point. We've had a very busy fun summer so far. However, I've struggled to get some quality ' me ' time to decompress. I'll spare you the meltdown that ensued. But the reality check that followed prompted me to take action.

Running My Life

Wow, has it really been 2 years since my last post? I suppose that I allowed life to get in the way. For any faithful blog readers, I apologize. Although, I'm not sure how many people actually read blogs anymore. I think most people use other social media platforms.  (By the way, drop by and say hi on Insta. )  But for some reason, each year when I pay for my google domain, I can't seem to let it go. As silly as it sounds, this little space is mine. And lately I've been struggling with ownership and acceptance. And my domain renewal was a not so gentle reminder that I have a voice .  Seriously, you'd think by 48 that I'd have this figured out - nope - apparently not. However, I am wise enough to know that we have a choice to allow situations to harms us or make us stronger. I'm choosing to let this mid-life quandary make me stronger. And because of this, I'm setting goals, taking charge, and reexamining priorities.  Movin' on...

When The Planner In You Must Be Flexible

In case you haven’t figured this out by now, I’m a planner. I know - shocker right?!? :) So although I love substitute teaching, it’s making the planner in me anxious. And it’s been reeking havoc on my workouts. Basically the morning of or maybe the night before, I find out if I’m working. So my day ( that I thought I had planned ) can be turned upside down in an instant. But, truthfully, isn’t that really the same with everyone?
